The strength of Māori leadership and agency, alongside value-driven holistic approaches to health and wellbeing, has been demonstrated in a review of localised Māori community responses to COVID-19 lockdowns. The review included four records published in academic literature, 13 news, online or media articles, and one situation report. Findings were categorised into distributive networks, wellbeing and resource support, and could positively impact the health of all New Zealanders, according to the review authors.
